NEW MILFORD—The Moth Radio Hour is a weekly series airing on NPR which features “true stories told live on stage … without scripts, notes, props, or accompaniment.” And now, the “Moth magic” will come to Litchfield County on Saturday, June 15, at 7:30 p.m., when seven Moth Grand Slam Storytellers take the stage at Merryall Center.

Merryall Tales–Personal Storytelling, “will be an exciting evening of tough, funny, poignant stories from some of the Northeast region’s most dynamic storytellers,” says Neil Intraub, a 2019 Moth Grand Slam winner, who will serve as emcee for the evening.

Intraub has assembled six other similarly-accomplished artists who will join him that evening: Jamie Brickhouse, Dave Fromm, David Hu, Sandi Marx, Jameer Pond and Tracey Starin.

Ellen Corsell, president of the center’s board suggested this program for Merryall’s 2024 season. “We’re excited about adding storytelling to our season’s offerings and think it will find a home with our Merryall audience,” she said.

Thanks to funding received from New Milford’s Commission on the Arts, there’s no admission charge for Merryall Tales. There will be a suggested donation of $20 at the door. Reservations are also strongly recommended and can be made online at: merryallcenter.org.

Merryall Center is located at 8 Chapel Hill Road, New Milford. There is a summer-long Merryall Road bridge closure and if traveling to the center on West Meetinghouse Road, follow the clearly-marked detour signs to Tamarack Road, which leads to Chapel Hill Road and Merryall Center.

The Merryall Center is a non-profit organization located at 8 Chapel Hill Road. For more information about the organization, including upcoming events and memberships, discounts, and pricing, visit the Center’s website at merryallcenter.org.
