North East Watercolor Society list exhibit winners

KENT—The North East Watercolor Society has announced the winners of its 48th International Exhibition on view at the Kent Art Association through Sept. 29.

Seventy-two watercolors paintings are on display.

The gallery, located at 21 South Main St., is open Wednesday through Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.

The following awards were presented during the opening reception:
North East Watercolor Society Award for Best in Show, “Orange Blossoms,” Chris Krupinski; second prize, “Gifts of Nature,” Roberta Oliver; third prize, “Afternoon Light,” Valerie Taggart; North East Watercolor Society Members Award, “Pink Day @ the Office,” Lana Privitera; Excellence Award, “Bargain Shopper,” Diana Aliberti;
North East Watercolor Society Excellence Award II, “The Wait,” Kenneth Call; Excellence Award III, “Manhattan Bridge II,” Susan Weintraub; and Richard L. Price Memorial Award,“Weeping Cherry” Kathleen Cea-Gupta.

Also, Elaine M. Garvin Memorial Award, “l’Altea Rose,” Robert O’Brien; M. Graham & Co. Award, “Emerging” Antonio Masi; Smile Award in Memory of Harvey Ball, “A Boy and his Dog,” Judith Hummer; Matilda Grech Memorial Award, “Market Baskets and Jars,” Chito Delos Santos III; Silver Brush Ltd. Award I, “Leaving Otisville,” Tom Hedderich; Silver Brush Ltd. Award II ($250m), “Sun Spots,” Alexis Lavine; Silver Brush Ltd. Award III, “Spoken Reflections,” Kathleen Dworak; and Silver Brush Ltd. Award IV, “Window into History, Bethlehem Steel,” Carolyn Latanision.
