KML Book Discussion Looks at Worlds of Work

KENT—The Fall Book Discussion Series: Worlds of Work in the Novel will discuss All the Lovers in the Night by Mieko Kawakami on Nov. 9. 

The “working-class” novel is hard to come by, but from the beginning of the first industrial revolution a few writers have ventured to portray the experience of labor. However, those early writers had limited knowledge of the actual daily life of a laborer.

The discussion will be conducted by Betty Krasne, PhD., writer, professor emerita, and longtime Kent resident. The program is free and open to the public on Zoom. To register and reserve books call 860-927-3761 or email.
