Sherman organizations announce holiday offerings

SHERMAN—Sherman has many activities planned for the year-end holidays, ranging from theater productions to concerts, visual arts, nature and holiday treats.

On Friday, Nov 22, the Sherman Library will hold an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. for the Sherman Artists Association Open Studio show, which will run through Jan. 11 at the 1 Sherman Center library.

The Sherman Artists Association Open Studios event will be held Dec. 7-8 in the artists’ studios, as well as at the Sherman Senior Center, 8 Route 37, the Sherman town hall, 9 Route 39, and the JCC, 9 Route 39.

The night of Saturday, Dec. 7, brings the Sherman Library’s “Northern Lights,” event, the library’s 22nd winter gala fundraiser with cocktails, festive fare, live music and a silent auction.

Also on Dec. 7-8, the Sherman Historical Society will hold its “Timeless Treasures” holiday event n the Northrop House, at 10 Route 37 Center. The event will feature Victorian décor, treats and a chance to pay Santa a visit in the barn. The organization’s Old Store will be open and feature holiday gifts.

Lastly, the Sherman Players is presenting “Wonderettes” at the Sherman Playhouse, 5 Route 39, through Thursday, Dec 21, and the Sherman Artists Association’s “Earth, Wind and Fire” art show is at the Live 4 Art Gallery, 20 Charles Colman Blvd. in Pawling, N.Y., through Dec 1.
