SHARON—The Sharon Playhouse will offer “Studying the Scene,” an immersive scene study class, starting Tuesday, Oct. 8, and continuing weekly through Nov. 19 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Taught by Ricky Oliver, one of Sharon Playhouse’s teaching artists, it the class will offer an opportunity to dissect and explore scenes from a diverse range of plays.

Participants will be assigned a scene that aligns with their interests and career goals, be it classical drama, contemporary comedy, or a thought-provoking new play.

Throughout the seven-week process, they will work alongside dedicated scene partners with a supportive instructor, fostering trust and vulnerability for truthful performances.

The semester will culminate with a final presentation in which they will share their honed skills and newfound understanding of character.
