For hors d’oeuvres, there will be an endless supply of succulent shrimp, a charcuterie board and more tidbits. Entrees cater to all tastes and include roast beef au jus with horseradish sauce, handmade chicken croquettes, and large stuffed pasta shells in marinara sauce. Accompanying sides include traditional grilled baked potatoes with all the fixings, sauteed Brussel sprouts and a vegetable medley with an offering of herb garlic butter, dinner rolls and whipped butter.

Should you have room, dessert features an ice cream sundae bar with all the toppings. Freshly brewed coffee, both regular and decaf, and hot tea will be available. Soda and setups are free of charge. For adult beverages, the event is BYOB.

The gala event, themed At a Moment’s Notice, honors the unwavering commitment of our volunteer firefighters and EMS responders and kicks off at 6 p.m. Saturday, at the KVFD Fire House, 28 Maple St.

After dinner, the Grand March will start the evening’s festivities. Kent artist Leslie Levy will present her painting “At a Moment’s Notice” to KFVD members.

“We are humbled by Leslie’s generosity in donating her original painting to the department. For the last 20 years, it has become emblematic of our daily commitment to the community, and we look forward to hanging it in a place of reverence in our firehouse,” said Fire Chief Alan Gawel.

Following the presentation, guests are invited to fill the dance floor to rock the night away to live music by the five-piece band, Those Guys.

Admission at the door is $60. Reservations are strongly recommended with advanced payment of $50. To reserve and purchase tickets online go to www.kentfire.org/ball for individuals or tables of 12.

Tickets can also be purchased at Kent Wine & Spirit, Kent Green Laundromat and the Town Clerk’s Office. Call or text Ball Chairperson Caralee Rochovansky with any questions at 860-671-7107 or email theball@kentfire.org
