Sherman Artists open show Aug. 2 in KAA building

SHERMAN—The Sherman Artists Association is hosting a show “August Light” in the Kent Art Association Building, 21 South Main St., Kent, Friday, Aug. 2 through Aug. 31. More than 35 artists and more than 100 paintings, photographs, mixed media, fused glass and sculpture have been accepted into the show.

The artists have created a feast of landscapes, portraits and abstracts of life, whimsy and beauty. The opening reception is Friday, Aug. 2, 6 to 8 p.m. Open hours are Thursday through Saturday 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.

The artists, both established and new, are from New York and Connecticut including Fairfield and Litchfield counties. Participating artists include Bethe Bogues, Christy Bonaiuto, Catherine Burack, Shiloh Carlisle, Phyllis Chadwick, John Clery, Carolyn Cohen, Keith Emminger, Jeff Ginsburg, Mary Ann Glass, Jane Haslam, Ted Hollander, Linda Hubbard, Joan Iver, Dave King, Mike Kisner, Ely Knowles, Blake Kotenbrink, Herb Kroeger, Kathleen L’Hommedieu, Charlene Leichter, Lu Li, Kenny Litwack, Mary Jane Magoon, Christina Maschke, MJ Newman, Doreen O’Connor, Laura Paradiso, Terry Pasquale, Kathy Peck, Steve Pica, Deborah Rose, Liz Rosiello, Virginia Schaffer, Denise Schlesinger, Lynn Slonaker, Barbara Soares, and Jim Stasiak.
