Korda, an English-born writer and novelist and former editor-in-chief of Simon & Schuster, will discuss World War I from the perspective of poets such as Rupert Brook, Robert Graves, Siegfried Sassoon, and Wilfred Owen.

Korda’s “Muse of Fire: World War I as Seen through the Lives of the Soldier Poets,” a group biography, has been universally praised.

The series will continue Sunday, Oct. 13, with novelist Adelle Waldman, who will read from “Help Wanted,” “the the workplace dramedy of the year, according to Kirkus. This comic workplace caper, set in a big box store in the Hudson Valley, shines a light on the odds low-wage workers are up against in today’s economy.
