The Parks and Recreation directors from four of those Region 1 towns offered seniors a chance to connect with friends old and new when it presented a Regional Senior Lunch Oct. 29 at the Community House in Kent.

The Kent Park and Recreation Department joined with the Parks and Recreation directors from Cornwall, Salisbury and Sharon to bring together more than 75 attendees for a lively afternoon of food, conversation, connection, and community.

Attendees shared stories, laughter, and strengthened bonds with neighbors from Kent and surrounding Region 1 communities.

The gathering was catered by The Cue of New Milford, which offered a meal of pulled chicken, pulled pork, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, and a grilled vegetarian sandwich.

“We were thrilled to host this regional senior lunch for the first time in Kent,” said Matt Busse, Park and Recreation director. “It was wonderful to see so many people there, enjoying good food and good company.”

The directors from the other towns were Jen Hulburt Markow from Cornwall, Lisa McAuliffe from Salisbury and Matt Mette from Sharon.

Kent Park and Recreation works to foster a vibrant and supportive environment for all ages through events like the luncheon, encouraging strong community connections and celebrating the seniors who contribute so much to the region.
