This month, gardening author Page Dickey will give a demonstration of how she uses flowers and branches cut from the field, forest and roadside to create striking flower arrangements. The workshop will be held at 10:30 a.m. during the flower market.

Dickey has been gardening and writing about it since her early 20s, as well as designing gardens for others. She has written eight books and edited another. Most of her books concentrate on aspects of garden design such as creating gardens that reflect their settings (Gardens in the Spirit of Place and Breaking Ground) or planning gardens as extensions of our homes (Inside Out).

Also featured will be the Flower Bar, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at RT Facts, 8 Barn Rd., with a selection of echinacea, lisianthus, feverfew, pre-made bouquets from Maitri Farm in Amenia, and a seed collecting workshop Michele Paladino from Lindera Nursery

From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. there will be a Community Farmers Market and fresh produce at Swyft Shop, and 10 to 5:30 p.m. visitors will find art exhibitions at several galleries and are able to enjoy live music under the big maple tree.
