KENT—There are still openings to register for Camp Kent day camp, offered by Kent Park and Recreation. Through a partnership with Club Getaway, children are able to use of the resort facilities during the weekly sessions and go on an off-site field trip by bus each week.

Campers at last year’s Camp Kent enjoyed a trip to the Beardsley Zoo, one of the weekly field trips offer to campers. Registration is still open. Photo contributed

Camp began Monday, June 24, for the first of six weekly sessions. Week four, starting July 22, is full and the previous week, starting July 15, is very close to full. There will not be camp offered during the July 4 holiday week. The last week begins Aug. 5.

Daily activities include swim time in the lake, ropes course, climbing walls, zip line, trampolines, bounce houses, assorted sports and more.

This year Park and Rec has extended the daily hours with drop off at 8 a.m., camp beginning 30 minutes later and ending at 4 p.m. with pickup by parents. There are also more camper spots available.

Each week includes a field trip, as well as a Club Getaway catered lunch on Friday and a camper t-shirt.

Fees begin at $225 for residents who sign up for one to three weeks. Additional discounts are available for siblings and multiple week signups. Eligible children are entering first through seventh grade next fall. Registration is online.

Scholarships are available. Families interested in registering with a scholarship must reach out to Director Matt Busse prior to registration by email.
