The headliner for the double-bill concert will be internationally renowned Hiroya Tsukamoto, a Japanese-born fingerstyle guitarist who moved to the United States in 2000 to study at Boston’s Berklee School of Music.

Tsukamoto has been recognized for his talents on stages such as at Blue Note in New York City, Japanese National Television (NHK), the International Storytelling Center and by taking second place at the International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship both in 2018 and 2022.

His concerts have been described as “immersive experiences that weave lyrical narratives with intricate melodies.”

The afternoon’s program will begin, though, with local favorite John Marshall’s four-piece Aspetuck Frame Drummers ensemble whose members include Diane Kinkade, Karen Hotchkiss and Andy Pyle.

Their original compositions are performed on large, single headed hoop/frame drums. Their material is inspired by classical and folkloric musical traditions of Egypt, North Africa, Central Asia and Western Europe.

The lead-in for all of this will be a noon brunch on the center’s deck, which is perched above the West Aspetuck River.

Warren General Store will provide an assortment of catered fare – pastries, bagels and smoked salmon. Freshly-brewed coffee and tea, fruit juices and mimosas will be included.

Tickets are $35 and include both the brunch and concert.

Merryall Road bridge is closed. If traveling to the center on West Meetinghouse Road, follow the detour signs to Tamarack Road which leads to Chapel Hill Road and Merryall Center, at 8 Chapel Hill Rd.
