KENT—The Kent Memorial Library will present a program on how to reduce waste and save money Thursday, Oct. 3, at 6 p.m.
Jennifer Heaton-Jones, executive director of the Housatonic Resources Recovery Authority, the regional governmental solid waste and recycling authority, will give the one-hour presentation and Q&A at the 32 North Main St. library.
She will discuss and answer backyard composting questions and how the town program works, the pros and cons to both options, and what can work best for one’s needs.
She will also detail why and how bones, shellfish, dairy and all food scraps can be accepted in the town program.
