WARREN – The Kent Land Trust will collaborate with two other organizations June 1 in an organized hike with the Lake Waramaug Association and the Warren Land Trust. This is in observance of Connecticut Forest & Park Association Trails Day 2024.

The three organizations are showcasing new trails on the adjoining Kent Land Trust and Warren Land Trust preserves located in the Lake Waramaug watershed. These trails feature scenic old walls, rock outcroppings of every size and shape, lovely streams and marshy areas, a walk alongside Beaman Pond, and a glimpse of Lake Waramaug along with the chimney and foundation walls of a historic farm building.

The hike is free and open to the public.

Registration is required.

The hike begins at 10 a.m. at Warren Land Trust’s Cunningham Nature Preserve, 00 Cunningham Road in Warren.

The trail is approximately 3.5 miles long, has an elevation change of about 580 feet and should be considered moderately difficult. Participants are asked to wear study footwear, weather-appropriate clothes and bring a water bottle. Leashed dogs are permitted.
