Kent Art Association to open March Invitational Show

KENT—The Kent Art Association opens its March Juried Show March 7 at 1 p.m. An opening reception is planned for March 8 from 6 to 8 p.m.

There are seven invited artists participating. Eileen Cooper, Warren Prindle and Whittnie Daniels work in a variety of mediums; Michael Spross and Matthew Purcell paint in oils; Katie Ross is a sculptor and painter, working primarily in metal (she is also a blacksmith), and Sean Moses Early is a graphics and monoprint artist.

Ross was a student of Prindle’s at Housatonic Valley Regional High School (HVRHS) and Purcell was a student of Spross at Millbrook High School, both about 20 years ago. Both HVRHS and Millbrook High School students participated in the KAA annual Student Show.

Regular viewing days and hours at KAA are Thursday-Saturday, 1-5 p.m., and Sunday, noon-4 p.m.

The Kent Art Association, located at 21 South Main St., is looking for volunteers in a variety of capacities. If interested, contact the association at 860-927-3989 or at kentartassociation@gmail.com.
