KENT—The Eric Sloane Museum, 31 Kent Cornwall Rd., will present a “How to Hew a Log” hewing workshop Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The hands-on workshop will explore hand-hewing techniques and methods taught by preservation carpenter, Nevan Carling. Students will learn the basics of timber selection and beam layout while using traditional tools and methods to create a hand-hewn finished product. The program is free but pre-registration is required.
