Fiber Arts Show offered by KAA with two talks this month

KENT – For the first time, the Kent Art Association will feature fiber arts. The Fiber Arts Show is an invitational and juried show of Tactile Art with the opening reception Friday, May 10 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The show continues through June 1 and features invited fiber artists, Carlos Biernnay, Karen Griska, Judy Scheck, and Kate Stiassni.

The show judges are Karen Eckmeier and Muriel Stockdale.

There will also be two demonstrations and talks held during the Fiber Arts Show. On Saturday, May 18 at 1 p.m. Karen Eckmeier will discuss “Painting with Fabric: The Art of Quilted Collage.” Barbara Marcone will speak Saturday, May 25 at 1 p.m. on “My Quilts Start with a Story.”

Gallery hours are Thursdays to Saturdays, 1-5 p.m. and Sundays noon to 4 p.m.
