Hi, what are you looking for?
Kent residents are invited to join the Kent Memorial Library in a trip to the Palace Theater in Waterbury Tuesday, April 8, at 11 a.m.
Participants will meet at the library, bring a lunch, and enjoy a tour of the historic theater.
Registered as a National Historic treasure, the Palace Theater was opened on January 28, 1922, to great fanfare. The elegant lobbies, crystal chandeliers, gold detailing, along with its Broadway-sized stage, quickly established this theater as the gem of Waterbury and one of the finest theaters in New England, if not the country.
The expedition is free and open to the public.
Volunteers are sought to drive.
To register please call the library at (860) 927-3761 or email kla-bmcallister@biblio.org. The group will depart from the library, 32 North Main St.
To submit an event for addition to the calendar, please email details to events@kentgtd.org
