Enjoy Summer’s Bounty

KENT—Summer has fled but it has left behind the fruits of its labor. Foods can never taste as good as those grown locally under the summer sun. Residents can still tap into this bounty Fridays through October at the Kent Farmers Market, 3 to 6 p.m. at the Kent Land Trust Field (37 South Main St.)

The market includes a wide variety of vendors, from farmers offering fresh produce, maple syrup, honey, cheeses, meats and fish, to local food artisans with specialty goods such as sweet treats, meat rubs, artisanal breads and baked goods, and salsa and chips.

There are also booths selling handcrafted jewelry, herbal remedies, seasonal blooms, handcrafted soaps and gift items.

The market is held rain or shine and is hosted by the Kent Chamber of Commerce.
