Tiffany Carlson from Housatonic Resource Recovery Authority (HRRA) was greeting people and talking about the Food Scraps pilot program that began in July 2023. Those who participated in the pilot program were able to collect three buckets full of compost.

She encouraged people to send the town or HRRA images of their plants or gardens that are helped with the compost. HRRA likes to include images in its reports to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) on programs, such as the food scraps one, that are funded by state grants.

Compost will be available again on Sunday April 28 at the Kent Transfer Station from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
