KENT—An artist’s reception will be held Jan. 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. for Jim Fenzel, whose exhibition, “Mansards &,” has been on view at the Kent Memorial Library.

The exhibition in the library’s gallery continues through Dec. 31.

The event is free and open to the public. Registration is requested.

Fenzel says of his work, “In these pieces, I juxtapose the intricacy of the mansard roof with a simple dotted representation of the sky.”

“The roof gives life and light to what’s no longer an attic, but extra floor (or two) of habitation,” he said.

“Much of my work barely depicts the building below the cornice line; the masonry resembles a pedestal employed to display the employed to display the mansard roof,” he said.
