Human rights explored by HVRHS students

FALLS VILLAGE – Students in the college course “Introduction to Human Rights” will present a discussion “Issues in Human Rights” Tuesday, June 4, at 3 p.m. in Room 133 at Housatonic Valley Regional High School.

Three groups of students will lead discussions on the topics. “Necessary Reform: Ways to Help Prospective Immigrants,” will be led by Leonid Clayton, Yaritza Vega and Eason Zhang of Kent. “The Fight for Liberation: Women’s Rights in Iron,” will be led by Kara Franks of Kent and Ayla Hill. “The Myth of the American Dream and its Impact on Region One,” is led by Veronica Bonnett, Samantha Cordelle, Evangeline Petkovich and Grace Riva.

John Lizzi is the instructor of the course, which is an Early College Experience (ECE) course of concurrent enrollment with UConn. The discussion is open to the public. For more information, contact jlizzi@hvrhs.org.
