Kent School will cancel traditional classes Saturday, May 11, so students can participate in the third annual OutREACH Day of Service, sponsored by Kent School’s REACH (Remember Every Action Can Help) community service club.

This day is in conjunction with the Alumni Day of Service, where alums and parents around the country will participate in service activities in their communities.

Students plan to work with Kent Food Bank, Kent Land Trust, Kent Affordable Housing, Kent Historical Society, Kent Memorial Library Book Sale, Morningstar Nursing Home, Pond Mountain Preserve and Marble Valley Farm.

Students do have an option to watch a documentary instead and the choices are: “Just Eat It: A Food Waste Story,” “Poverty Inc.,” “The True Cost” and “Awareness” in conjunction with “In A Different Key.”

A total of 200 students and 50 faculty are expected to participate in 14 service events on campus and in town.
