NEW MILFORD—Tickets are now on sale for Merryall Center’s 2024 Season. Merryall’s 15-event season runs from June 1 through September 29 and will showcase a diverse array of musical and theatrical performances.

“We’re thrilled with this year’s amazing lineup,” said Ellen Corsell of Kent, president of the Merryall Center’s Board of Directors. “This is our third season since reopening post-pandemic and it’s our best so far.”

The season kicks off on June 1 when Jill Sobule returns to Merryall alongside Antigone Rising for a reprise of their 2023 off-Broadway hit, F*ck 7th Grade, New York Times Critics Pick and Drama Desk-nominated musical.

“Do not let the asterisk in the title dissuade you from attending this fun, entertaining heartfelt piece of theatre,” said Executive Director Dean Gray. The musical is Sobule’s “poignant autobiographical account of surviving the cruelties of middle school in the early 70s as a tomboy and nerd.”

The season continues on June 8 when singer-songwriter Nick Petrone debuts his new autobiographically inspired album, “Welcome to the Rainbow Room.” Then, on June 15 Merryall introduces another artform to its line up with “Merryall Tales –Personal Storytelling” featuring seven Northeast-based Moth Grand Slam/Story Slam winners.

The 2024 Season also includes return engagements by Boston-based singer-songwriter Antje Duvekot, local favorites, Violet Willows, Lara Schuler, Rob Brereton, Frank Brocklehurst’s Jazz Manouche Quartet and Bridgeport’s very own, Caravan of Thieves.

Merryall premieres this year include world music guitarist Hiroya Tsukamoto; Aspetuck Frame Drummers; singer-songwriter Cliff Eberhardt; contemporary classical chamber music featuring oboist Anna Hendrickson and guitarist Kenneth Meyer; a one-person autobiographical play with music and video entitled “Dedication,”written and performed by pianist Roger Peltzman.

“I’m especially proud to be bringing “Dedication” to Merryall this September”, said Gray. “The play is about the uncle Peltzman never knew, a brilliant pianist who was murdered in Auschwitz at age 21. It’s about second-generation survivor trauma and the role music can play in managing wounds that never fully heal.”
