KENT—Youth will have an opportunity to work with the region’s leading trades and artisanal crafts professionals Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The third annual SPARK event, hosted by TradesUp, will introduce youth to the wide range of job opportunities in traditional trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical trades and more.

The event will be held at the Connecticut Antique Machinery Association & Eric Sloane Museum, 31 Kent Cornwall Road.

More than 400 young people typically attend and will spend the day creating, constructing and exploring in a safe and inspiring environment.

TradesUp is the umbrella organization for SPARK. It is a non-profit 501c3 company run by dedicated volunteers. It benefits youths seeking creative outlets, communities seeking to foster intergenerational programing while potentially developing future tradespeople.

This event is free and open to the public. There is no cost nor age requirement to participate in SPARK.

Registration is available on site or here.
