KENT—The South Kent School students, under the direction of Steve Klots, have resumed their collection of used clothing to support the Church Street Eats soup kitchen in Hartford.

Klots and his students transport the donated items to the soup kitchen, which is associated with the Christ Church Cathedral.

South Kent School students last delivered clothing to the Church Street Eats soup kitchen last April. They are resuming their collection at St. Andrew’s Church in Kent this fall. Photo contributed

Needed are sweatshirts, sweatpants, coats, casual shirts, t-shirts, pants, new socks, blankets and even shoes.

Larger sizes (L, XL, and 2XL) are particularly needed.

The majority of soup kitchen guests are men, therefore, men’s clothing is preferred.

Formal clothing donations, such as suits, are donations appropriate for the thrift shop at the First Congregational Church.

The collection box will be in the narthex of St. Andrew’s Church, 1 N. Main St.
