KENT—Those who have yet to take in Goshen artist Don Sexton’s exhibition, “Fairs, Amusement Parks and Fun Places,” at Kent Memorial Library still have a week to do so.

“Metropolis New Year’s Eve” by Don Sexton

Sexton, who paints in oils or mixed media, uses colors to make his work intriguing and memorable. His oils are traditional. The mixed media technique works are based on a special approach that he developed many years ago and that involves both watercolors and oil pastels.

His works depict places around the world where people—kids and adults—have fun. His paintings include the Goshen Fair, the Big E in West Springfield and the Taste of Tribeca in New York City, and amusement parks such as Playland in Rye, Luna Park in Sydney and Disney in Shanghai.

His works also include places where adults have fun such as Torrington’s Warner Theater, the Las Vegas Strip, the Paris Left Bank and New York’s Time Square.

His paintings can be seen during library opening hours until Dec. 31. The library is located at 32 North Main Street, Kent.
