NEW MILFORD –New Milford will kick off its second Pizza Palooza to showcase the variety of businesses that serve up one of American’s favorite foods. The town-wide event begins Sept. 1 and runs through Oct. 31.

The pizza crawl comes on the heels of the town’s second Ice Cream Crawl, which ended Aug. 25.

To date, 12 businesses are on board for Pizza Palooza.

The event invites patrons to visit numerous participating businesses that specialize in pizza to experience the variety of styles, crusts, toppings and tastes.

Those who purchase a slice of pizza or a whole pie at five of the participating businesses and keep their receipts can receive a gift and be entered to win a pizza-themed gift basket.

Gift cards from participating businesses will be among the other products in the gift baskets.

Participating New Milford businesses include All Aboard Pizzeria & Ice Cream Parlor, Big Y Pizza, Bravo NY Pizza, Brickhouse Pizza & Restaurant, Colosseo Bar Ristorante Pizza, Fratello’s Pizza & Pasta (formerly Pronto Pizza), Italia Mia Restaurant & Pizza, John’s Best Pizza Restaurant, New Milford Pizza Station, Salinas Restaurant Pizza & Bar, Scooter’s Bar & Grill and Soho Pizza.

Here’s how the Pizza Palooza works: Purchase pizza (slice or a pie) at five participating businesses and save your receipts. Each participant must post a selfie with the pizza in the comments under the pinned New Milford Pizza Palooza post on the NewMilfordNow Facebook page or post it on Instagram and tag NewMilfordNow beginning Sept. 1. If a family or group of friends purchases a pie to share and each person is doing the Palooza, be sure everyone does a selfie, or that there is a group photo.

When participants have visited five businesses, stop by the mayor’s office at Roger Sherman Town Hall, 10 Main St., Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to be entered into a drawing to win one of three pizza-themed gift baskets.

For more information about the New Milford Pizza Palooza, including questions about where to post selfies, DM NewMilfordNow on Facebook or Instagram, or email Deborah Rose at drose@NewMilfordNow.org.
