KENT—The Environmental Book Club has scheduled its next meeting for Monday, Sept. 9 at 4 p.m.

The group is reading “Nature’s Best Hope” by Douglas W. Tallamy. It is a relatively short book at 256 pages, so anyone who wants to read it and join the discussion is welcome to do so. Copies of the book are available at Kent Memorial Library. Tallamy shares his vision for a grassroots, home-grown approach to conservation and advocates for homeowners to turn their yards into conservation corridors that provide wildlife habitats. He provides specific instructions on steps that can be taken.

The Environmental Book Club is a group of Kent residents who have decided to read books on environmental topics and have a discussion every two months.

Anyone interested in joining the book club and attending the Sept. 9 meeting is asked to RSVP to the club coordinator, Deb Schlee, deb.schlee@icloud.com. Anyone who is interested, but unable to join the upcoming discussion, is encouraged to contact Schlee so she can share the next book, date and location of the November meeting (once that has been determined).
