“Places of Kent” at House of Books Through Oct. 29

KENT—More than 50 paintings in the “Places of Kent” exhibition remain on view in the gallery above the House of Books, 10 N. Main St. The works are by more than 20 artists, both contemporary and from the past. The show is sponsored by the Kent Historical Society.

Contemporary artists include Susan Grisell, Scott Bricher, Chris Magadini, Edward Martinez, Deborah Chabrian, Jim Laurino, James Napoleon, Heather Schofield, Bob Lenz, Bill Merklein, Thomas Adkins, Shannon Blanton, Richard Stalter, and Richard Schmid. Historic works by George Laurence Nelson, Carl Hirschberg, Robert H. Nisbet, Spencer Nichols and more will also be included in the exhibition.

The show is open weekends Fridays, 4-7 p.m., Saturdays, 1-6 p.m., and Sundays 12-4 p.m., through Oct. 29.
