WASHINGTON, CT—The Rotary Club invites intermediate-to-advanced pickle ballers to participate in the club’s annual Pickleball Tournament scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 15, 12:30 to 4 p.m.

The annual event —held at the Frederick Gunn School’s tennis courts (Underhill Memorial Field, 100 Green Hill Rd.) — will be transformed for the fundraiser. “As with last year’s tournament, there will be doubles play only. If you don’t have a partner, we’ll pair you up with someone who has comparable experience,” said Washington Rotary President Austin Farmer.

Prizes, gift certificates, raffles and complimentary refreshments are also planned for the three-and-one-half-hour tournament with pre-registered players able to check in at noon.

Only 64 players can be accommodated and early registration is advised. Tickets are $40 per person before Sept. 8 and $50 after Sept. 8.

Proceeds from the fundraiser allow the Washington Rotary to continue to champion several vital programs in the community. Courtside sponsors include Aspetuck Animal Hospital, Connecticut Gold & Silver Brokers, Good Company, Spring Hill Vineyards and William Raveis Lifestyles Realty.

Off-court sponsors include: Depot Dog, G.W. Tavern, Hickory Stick Bookshop, National Iron Bank, New Milford Tennis & Swim Club, Point Studio, The Pantry, Union Savings Bank, and Waldingfield Farm.

Bad weather on game day will move the tournament indoors to the Rumsey Hall School gym, 201 Romford Rd. Further information, announcements, and updates will be posted on https://WashingtonRotaryPickleball.eventbrite.com.
