KENT—The Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging is offering a limited number of one-on-one appointments with residents on Monday, Sept. 23, at the Kent Senior Center.
Representatives will provide information on traditional Medicare and Medicare supplements, Medicare Advantage, prescription drug options, and state-sponsored help for low-income beneficiaries.
A limited number of appointments are available. Appointments are required by calling 860-927-1586.
At the same time, the Energy Assistance program (CEAP), which helps Connecticut resident to heat their homes, begins Oct. 1.

Households that heat with deliverable fuels such as oil or propane may be eligible for an additional free tank fill.
Applicants may also qualify for heating shut-off protections, become eligible to sign up for a payment plan to reduce primary utility heating costs, and receive free heating equipment replacement or repairs.
To be eligible for CEAP, applicants must be a Connecticut resident; receive food stamps; and have an annual income that falls at or below 60 percent of the state’s median income.
