Should we plan ahead to honor Vietnam vets?

To the Editor:

The 9/11 memorial honors coverage was appropriate.

Next year marks the 50th year since U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War ended.  All of us—civil and military—who were involved in it in every branch of the service, officer and enlisted (even as both) have experiences to relate for community education and history.

We’re now among the oldest veterans. Should we plan ahead for this?

Mr. Sturges, would you like to schedule and help create an event that could be held at the Kent Senior Center? We would be more than happy to collaborate with you if you’re interested. Please feel free to give us a call at the Social Services Office at 860-927-1586.
