Blue Country is first act in six-concert series

KENT—Blue Country will be this year’s opening act at Kent Park and Recreation’s six-concert series for Kent residents. Park and Rec is once again teaming up with the Kent Land Trust to offer the Thursday evenings events, beginning this week.

The outdoor free concert series will begin Thursday, Aug. 8 hosted by Kent Park and Recreation and Kent Land Trust in the land trust field on South Main Street. A number of performers, including Wanda Houston, will return to perform. Photo by Lynn Mellis Worthington

Five of the concerts will be at the Kent Land Trust field on South Main Street and one concert will be at Kent Town Hall. Parking opens at 5 p.m., with music starting at 5:30 p.m. and continuing for 90 minutes.

There is no charge for entry. Donations of non-perishable items for the Kent Food Bank will be accepted at the concert venue.

Sept. 26, The Regulators

Rain will cancel a concert. Updates will be posted on the Kent Land Trust website and Facebook page, as well as Kent Park and Rec’s Facebook page and website.
