Local commercial artists’ work to be exhibited

KENT—The Kent Art Association will mount a retrospective show presenting the life works of Werner Kappes of New Preston, a former commercial artist in Manhattan, and the works of the late artist/illustrator Frank Habbas of Washington, Conn.

The exhibition that will run from Friday, Nov. 8, through Dec. 7. An opening reception will be held Nov. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Also on display will be a collection of fashion illustrations by the late Kermit Adler on loan from Jeanne McRoberts.

A former Lord & Taylor creative director, Adler created many illustrations for the Barn Shop ads in Kent.
