KENT—Betty Krasne will continue her popular book discussion group this fall via Zoom, starting in September. The discussion group is sponsored by the Kent Memorial Library.
The theme this session is “Family Dysphoria,” and the novels on the Fall Book Discussion list follow young characters who find themselves in acute disjunction with the life around them. Whether the source is color, nationality, gender or religion, these characters must find ways to deal with the overwhelmingly intense sense that they do not fit in.
Selections for discussion are: “The Vanishing Half” by Brit Bennett, Sept. 12; “A History of Burning,” Janika Oza,” Oct. 10; “The Recent East,” Thomas Gratton, Nov. 14, and “Fervor,” Toby Lloyd, Dec. 12.
The book discussion takes place via Zoom once a month on a Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. It is open to the general public who register in advance.
