KLT plans riverside cleanup workday

KENT—The Kent Land Trust will hold a volunteer workday riverbank cleanup Saturday, Aug. 10, starting at 8 a.m. The activity, which is for persons aged 10 and older, is free and open to the public.

Participants should meet at the Claire Murphy Riverwalk, 170 Kent Road, where KLT has been actively restoring the habitat of waterfowl and other riverbank-dependent species by removing invasive plants. Sturdy, waterproof footwear and weather-appropriate clothing is advised, as are a water bottle, pruners and loppers. 

Registration is required to communicate weather-related changes. Registration can also be made by calling 860-488-9185 or emailing info@kentlandtrust.org.
