NEW MILFORD, Conn.—Three organizations have come together to create a two-day “Airing of the Quilts,” one of several events the town is planning as part of its America 250 activities.

The public is invited to submit quilts for the display, which will be presented Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3.
The special event is a collaboration between New Milford’s Celebrate America 250 Committee, New Milford Historical Society, and Roger Sherman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Quilts will be displayed at the historical society, St. Peter’s Masonic Lodge, the First Congregational Church and in establishments around the Village Green.
This is a display of quilts large and small, old and new.
Those who wish to be a part of the celebration are invited to attend.
Veralyn Davee, a longtime and prolific local quilter, and a member of the Kent Quilters, will deliver a presentation on the history of quilting during the event.
The deadline to register to participate is April 15.
More events are being scheduled; more information will be posted as the dates approach.
