KAA plans opening reception for five invited artists

KENT—The opening reception for the Kent Art Association’s President’s Summer Invitational, which features five invited artists who practice in various mediums, will be held Friday, June 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. 

The show is on view until Saturday, June 29.

The five invited artists are Linda Filley, who makes paper shoes; Barbara Graham, who works in costume design, colored pencil drawings, collage, oil and acrylic painting; Moira Kelly, whose work involves a special process of plaster, patterns and tempera pigments; Paul Neuman works in abstract collage, mixed media and wood sculpture; and last but not least, James Woodruff, who paints large oil paintings.

Viewing days and hours at KAA are Thursday through Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.

There are two planned talks at the gallery for this show, both free. All are welcome to attend. Saturday, June 15, at 2 p.m., Moira Kelly will speak about her artistic process and on Saturday, June 22, at 1 p.m., James Woodruff will present a gallery talk.
