KENT–The Kent Art Association’s annual Fall Juried Show will launch today (Thursday) Nov. 9th at 1 p.m. An opening reception will be held Friday, Nov. 10, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
There are 35 artists participating with 103 works of art, including mixed media, oil, acrylic, photography, pastel, watercolor, glass work, fiber arts and sculpture. This juried show was open to all artists and runs through Saturday, Dec. 2.
The KAA gallery will be open late Saturday, Dec. 2, to participate in the Kent Holiday Fest when many businesses remain open until 8 p.m. Regular viewing days and hours are Thursday-Saturday, 1-5 p.m. and Sundays noon-4 p.m.
The monthly Coffee Talk will be held Saturday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m. when Deborah Chabrian, a KAA member and president of the Kent Historical Society, will a talk on Willard Paddock, a founding member of the KAA. Paddock was a well known sculptor and his works can be found around the country. Chabrian currently lives in the Paddock home in South Kent.
The KAA, formed in 1923, is one of the state’s oldest art associations, and is celebrating its centennial. It is located at 21 South Main St. (Route 7). Visit www.kentart.org.
