To the Editor:

After more than five years of searching and interviewing more than 60 dentists, we have finally found two dentists whom we feel are the best possible individuals to continue on in our practice of dentistry.

Dr. Gitae Kwon was born in South Korea but raised in Englewood, N.J. He attended New York University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He then attended NYU College of Dentistry where he graduated with honors. He was honoree of the outstanding achievement in operative dentistry by the Academy of Operative Dentistry. In 2023 he earned a master’s degree in Dental Implantology and advanced surgical extractions from the University of Camillus, in Rome, Italy.

Dr. Kwon teaches and lectures as a part time faculty member at the Gangnam International Implant Academy, where he provides education to fellow dentists regarding implant surgery as well as wisdom teeth extractions.

Dr. Kwon is married to his lovely wife, Nawon, who will shortly graduate from a residency program with a specialty in pediatric dentistry from Temple University. They will be moving to this area as soon as she graduates from her program this June. Dr. Kwon has an insatiable passion for learning. He always puts maximum effort into proper communication and has a flawless bedside manner.

Dr. Byungchul Park also lived in New Jersey prior to moving to Connecticut in 2015, where he has been practicing in Stamford. Dr. Park also graduated from NYU and NYU College of Dentistry with honors. One special thing about Dr. Park is that he has the gentlest hands that you could ask for in a dentist. When not doing dentistry, you can find him enjoying a game of soccer.

Both Jill and I have greatly enjoyed the nearly 40 years we have lived in Kent. We greatly appreciate the trust that our patients/friends have shown in us. We are retiring, but not saying goodbye; just thank you, because we plan to continue to live here in Kent for many years. You may very well see us in this office as patients in the future.
