Garden Club Installs More Benches in Town Center

KENT—Never let it be said that Kent is unwelcoming. A well-known destination town for day-trippers, it makes its visitors comfortable while they peruse the town’s shops and art galleries.

Visitors are a little more comfortable this year as a result of the Kent Garden Club’s efforts to provide new benches upon which to rest. A first order of 12 benches was placed along Main Street in May and a second batch of 13 arrived in town Wednesday.

Twenty-five sponsorships underwrote the benches from Kenneth Lynch in Oxford, CT. The benches replace the original teak ones installed in 2000.
