Expresses ‘hope’ Emery Park will be renovated for swimming

To the Editor:

Without a vision, people perish.

I express my hope that Emery Park will be renovated to allow safe swimming during the summer season.

Why is this important? The old adage: “healthy minds in healthy bodies.”

A civic responsibility is to be good stewards of what we have.

As there is the possibility of renovating Emery Park for swimming, and as there are many members of our community who do not have access to a private pool and would swim regularly if there was availability,  it seems wise, prudent and thoughtful to make accessible what is manageably within our reach.

This would confirm our town’s commitment to “healthy minds in healthy bodies,” which is so essential for good citizenship.
