Hi, what are you looking for?
Kent Historical Society presents this lecture at Kent Town Hall.
Richard Franklin Donahue will present images of World War I monuments and share stories about their symbolism and design. Donahue has visited and studied WWI monuments throughout all of the 169 towns in Connecticut. The state has more than 235 memorials dedicated to the memory of soldiers and nurses who served during the first World War.
The Annual Meeting theme honors the recent installation of Kent Sculptor Sabin Howard’s World War I Memorial near the White House in Washington, D.C. Participants are invited to bring their own WWI memorabilia.
The members of the Kent Historical Society are invited to participate in a short Annual Meeting to elect the Board of Trustees for 2024 – 2025, to precede the lecture.
