KENT—Edward J. Schullery of Kent, beloved husband of the late Bernadette (Ward) Schullery, died at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, June 13, 2024. He was born in Danbury on July 24, 1935, son of the late Edward and Frances (Strup) Schullery

He was a veteran, having served with the United States Air Force. He was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. During his time in the Air Force, he perfected his skills as a photographer and went on to enjoy a 25-year-long career as a photographer for Central Connecticut State University.

He will be sadly missed by his four children, Bernadette Kohut (Richard), Patricia-Ann Corso (Mark), Edward Schullery and James Schullery (Ginny); his eight grandchildren, Mackenzie Margaret Corso, Madison Turner, Jack Corso and Zachary, Gillian, Seth, Christopher and Courtney Schullery; two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Faith Paloian and Harper Carol Turner; and his brother, Thomas Schullery (Betti). 

He is also survived by Karen McLaughlin, who was by his side for the last nine years. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Susan Schullery.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 17 Bridge St., Kent. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday, June 19th, between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m.
