KENT—The Democratic Party Northwest Connecticut Democratic Campaign Office is open for drop-in visits from the public.

Visitors are welcome Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its 27 North Main St., 7B (on second floor), office. In addition, it is open other times for scheduled events.

Those who wish to take part in the coordinated campaign to re-elect Senator Chris Murphy and Representative Jahana Hayes are encouraged to come for an hour at lunchtime to write a few postcards or to bring a cup of coffee and make a few calls for candidates.

The coordinated campaign works alongside local candidate campaigns, including those for state Representative Maria Horn and state Senate candidate Justin Potter.

Local organizer Matan Acklesberg coordinates phone banks, door knock campaigns and other activities in the Kent headquarters.

Volunteers can join him for phone banking every Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

A special phone bank will be held Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. when campaign workers call women voters throughout the region urging them to vote for reproductive freedom by supporting Horn, Hayes, and Vice President Kamala Harris, who is running for President.

There will be wine, cheese and other nibbles.

Participants should bring their phones, chargers, laptops/tablets, and, if possible, a friend.

For information, contact Cindy Barrett, Horn’s volunteer coordinator, at cbingoshen57@gmail.com or 860-781-5066.
