Due to the forecasted high heat index over the next few days, Kent’s Office of Emergency Management announced Tuesday, June 18 that the town has once again partnered with Kent Memorial Library to provide a cooling center for those individuals needing relief from the heat. The air conditioned library will be open Tuesday and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For any individuals who need relief from the heat outside of the library’s normal operating hours, the Emergency Management Office can have the cooling center at the Kent Senior Center at 16 Swift Lane up and running and staffed with CERT members ready to assist. Anyone needing the services is asked to contact Emergency Management emdirector@townofkentct.org or by calling the office and leaving a message, 860-927-5218.
