Architectural Review Board gives nod to exterior repairs

KENT—In a short meeting Feb. 12, the Architectural Review Board approved an application from Andrew Vinciguerra and Amber Ott to make exterior repairs and improvements to their barn and house at 79 North Main St.

Ott explained that the house needs to be painted but that some repairs are needed before that is done. Specifically, she said the porch roof is leaking and that they want to replace it with a standing seam roof. Additionally, the 1960s vintage aluminum storm windows would be removed and replaced with custom-made wooden storm windows.

At the back of the property, the existing barn has a garage door that is falling down and too narrow to accommodate a car and they want to enlarge it. Another door needs to be put back on and damage to the siding from a falling tree needs to be repainted.

She said they would like to paint the house a warm gray, with touches of red around the windows to reflect the color of the barn.

The ARB members agreed with the changes and approved the plan unanimously.
