From The Den:

The Lions Club welcomed three new members this month. Joining the ranks are Lee Ogden, Denyse and David Stoneback.

Our guest speaker was President of Kent Affordable Housing Justin Potter. We heard about their upcoming project near Templeton Farm and the goals they have for increasing affordable housing within our community.

We voted in the new Executive Board for 2024-2025, which will include Karren Garrity, Jonathan Matson, Diane Impastato, Patti Hicks, Norm Mosher, James Vick and Cathe Mazza.

The Connecticut Antique Machinery Show did NOT get rained out! We had a successful two days flipping burgers and dogs, as well as much-appreciated help from the Kent Boy Scouts serving breakfast.

We also helped The Cove Center for Grieving Children set up for their arrival at Club Getaway. Members setup the cabins with special items. https://www.covect.org/campcompassion

We are so grateful to our community in their support of the Kent Food BankWe had a successful food drive at the IGA and were able to help restock the shelves.

Coming up in the next couple of weeks :

Memorial Day,  May 27th, we will distribute flags/pin wheels at the parade, giving out ice cream and water at the Community House at the end of the route, and hosting a craft table at the Memorial Day Picnic.

Blood drive, June 17th at the Community House, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you want to donate click here.

The Kent Lions Club is a group of local volunteers who gather to support our community. Through awareness activities, fundraising and donating time to various projects and initiatives, we strive to make town a better place.
