Thirty to 40 residents recently spent part of their Sunday afternoon celebrating a major milestone for the community’s newest digital news source, www.kentgtd.org.
A crowd of Kent Good Times Dispatch supporters, family, and friends helped ring in the first anniversary of publishing the GTD at an Oct. 13 celebration held at Kent Town Hall.
Platters of sandwiches, cheeses, and cookies were served, along with a variety of celebratory beverages.
Andrea Schoeny, president of Kent News, Inc., the nonprofit publisher of the GTD, thanked the public for supporting the launch and first year of the publication, and then turned it over to Karen Chase, who served as the board’s founding president and recently retired from the board.
